To help our users enjoy their time in the Hotel and stay as safe as possible, we have created a number of tools to ensure control over each and every situation.
We recommend that you read the following information together with your child to make sure they understand what they can do to be in control of their Habbo experience.
If another user is bothering your child, or they simply do not want to listen to what somebody says, they can silence this person by using the Ignore button. To do this, they click on the avatar of the person they want to silence. The Ignore button will appear and once they click on it, the speech from the user in question automatically becomes invisible.
For more information on the Ignore button tool, please click here.
-Room moderation tools
Your child is in control of their own rooms. They get to decide what happens in their rooms and who can visit them. This allows them to play an active part in the general Habbo moderation and to contribute to a safer, enjoyable and responsible community. Your child has the following tools at their disposal:
This tool removes a user from a room. The user may return to the room, if it is not full or locked.
This tool mutes a user in the room. Your child can choose to mute a user for 2 , 5 or 10 mins.
This tool works in the same way as Mute, but here all Habbos in a room will be muted.
This tool lets your child ban a Habbo from their room for a period of time. They can choose between 1 hour, 1 day and permanent (group members can only be banned for one hour or one day).
This tool serves to remove a ban previously imposed. If your child made a mistake when banning someone they can rectify it with this button.
Your child can also let their friends help them moderate their rooms when they are not around. For more information about room moderation tools, please click here.
-Control Access to rooms
There are options to help our users control access to their rooms:
Open – Any user may enter the room
Password – The room is locked with a password. Only users who have the password can enter.
Doorbell – Users will need to ring the doorbell and your child decides who gets to come in.
Invisible - Users without room rights cannot see the room in the navigator.
Users can make changes to room access settings by clicking Room Info icon to the bottom left of the screen., which opens the control panel.
- Room Filter
This filter serves as an addition to the chat filter, also known as bobba filter.
Some words that are generally allowed in the hotel may be considered inappropriate by some users or they simply don't want these words said in their own rooms.
With the room filter users can control what words or phrases they don't allow others to say in their rooms. They can set and edit the room filter differently in each of their rooms.
- Forum moderation
Group owners can read, publish and open new discussion threads. They can also select Group member only or Administrator only settings.
Group owners can hide, modify or restore posts or entire threads.
-Profile privacy settings
Our users are and remain anonymous and their personal information is not shown anywhere in the hotel. Nevertheless we have put at their disposal some profile settings to give them even more control over their privacy. These settings can be accessed through the Account Settings link which appears in the same window as the name of the user. The privacy settings options are as follows:
Online status - If they don’t want to be seen while connected to the hotel, they can click Nobody.
Follow me Settings – Only their friends are able to follow them from one room to the next. Nevertheless if they would like a quiet moment to themselves, they can click Nobody in these settings. This way nobody will know where they are.
On Habbo you have the option to protect your account from unwanted access. If you think your account has been compromised, we’ll block it. All main features such as trading furni will be disabled until the account has been unblocked. You can activate the safety lock in Account settings.

Also please remember that you can find more information on how to get help and advice for a problem on Habbo here.
