Habbo Community Council

What is the Habbo Community Council?

The Community Council (CC) is a small group of experienced, trusted players who help give the Habbo team objective, expert, and unbiased input on specific areas of our work. Members are appointed – not elected or open to application – based on their knowledge of Habbo, their objectivity, and their track record of being constructive and easy to work with.

What does the Community Council do?

The Council's role covers three broad areas:

  1. Feature and product advice – suggesting tweaks to how a feature works so it lands better with players.
  2. Community reaction forecasting – helping us understand how the wider community is likely to respond to an item, event, or feature before it goes live.
  3. Early-stage input on campaigns and furni lines – contributing to the ideation / brainstorming phase on what a campaign or item line should be, before any art production has started.

Are Council members personally responsible for passing on my feedback?

No. Council members aren't a help desk or an escalation route for individual issues – they're not expected to relay bug reports, support tickets, or one-off feedback on someone's behalf, and they're not obligated to pass along feedback they personally disagree with or that only reflects one player's view.

If you have a specific issue (a bug, an account problem, a support request), the fastest and most effective route is always our official support tickets and social channels – not a Council member's DMs.

Does the Council decide what Habbo does?

No. The Council doesn't set the agenda, make final calls, or act as a source of truth for Habbo's direction – that responsibility sits with the Habbo team. Council members give their honest perspective when asked; they aren't accountable for outcomes, and they shouldn't be treated as responsible when something goes wrong (a bug, a typo, a decision they didn't make).

If something isn't working as expected, please raise it through support tickets or our official channels rather than holding a Council member responsible for it.

Does the Council see and approve finished designs?

No. Council input happens at the ideation stage – on the concept, direction, and product decisions – rather than on finished or near-finished artwork. This means the Council is generally not asked to judge the technical or artistic execution of a specific piece, only whether the underlying idea is a good one.

In some cases, artists may ask the Council specific, targeted questions about a piece in progress (for example, choosing between two design directions). This happens at the artist's discretion when they want that input – it isn't a standing review round.

Can the Council request changes to an item once it’s in production?

Not as a formal process. Once an item has moved into art production, reworking it based on new feedback is costly in artist time, so this is avoided wherever possible. If the whole Council independently identifies the same significant issue with something already in production, the team will consider whether a fix is feasible – but this isn't guaranteed, and more subjective or stylistic feedback at this stage generally won't result in changes.

Is the Council's advice binding?

No. The Council plays an advisory role only. The Habbo team carefully considers their input, but doesn't always act on it – decisions still have to account for production timelines, technical constraints, and the long-term direction of Habbo as a product. This has been true since the Council was announced and hasn't changed.

How does this compare to how the Council was originally described?

When the unified Council was announced in September 2025, we described members getting "directly involved in helping steer the design of furni lines from the ground up," using the Festa no Brasil campaign as an example, and said this deeper level of involvement was being formalised for all major events going forward.

In practice, the workflow that's developed since then is narrower than that: Council input is mostly gathered at the ideation/product stage, with more detailed design collaboration happening only where a specific event calls for it. We want to be upfront that this is a change from what was originally described, and this FAQ reflects how the Council actually operates today.

If the Council provides positive feedback on an idea and the community doesn't like the final result, who's responsible?

The Council gives feedback on ideas and concepts, not on finished execution – so their sign-off on a concept isn't a guarantee of how the finished item will look or land. Responsibility for how something is ultimately designed and produced sits with the Habbo team, not the Council.

Who is in the Community Council?

Council membership is by invitation only, based on a player's knowledge of Habbo, objectivity, and a consistent track record of constructive engagement. The group isn't currently open to new applications, though this may be reviewed in future. The current members are listed below:

How can I share feedback if I'm not on the Council?

The Community Council doesn't replace normal player feedback channels. You can still share feedback through official social channels and in-game surveys – the Council is one additional input alongside these, not the only way player feedback reaches the team.
